Natural, rustic and dotted with beautiful burgundy, this wonderful wedding was a celebration of all things verdant.
Spring is right around the corner, mere days away. Soon we'll be experiencing the days getting brighter, a new crop of flowers in the fields and the joys of multiple bank holidays! In celebration of this wonderful time of the year, we thought we'd share the stunning real wedding of our bride Aimee, and her now husband, Tom!
Aimee and Tom got married early this year at the gorgeous Apton Hall wedding venue in Rochford. A delightful place set within idyllic countryside surroundings, with Grade 2 listed buildings on-site that date back as far as 1086. It's a beautiful destination to tie the knot in, and it matched the rustic, natural aesthetic our newly-weds wanted to create just perfectly.
The Real Wedding of Aimee & Tom at Apton Hall
We're so pleased to be sharing a few pictures from Aimee's big day, along with some words from the bride herself on how her wedding came together.
How did you two meet?
On the dance floor at Chicago's!
How did you get engaged?
Tom had planned a very romantic proposal in Florence, Italy, but then Covid-19 struck, and we had to cancel. The following year, we had a date in London and Tom proposed on the top of a river cruise with the city lights all around us. The weather wasn’t great, but it meant we were the only ones up there, so it felt really intimate and special.
What was your favourite moment(s) from the wedding?
Getting ready just before the ceremony was something I’ll always remember. Having my little girl there with me and seeing her reaction to us all in our dresses was so cute!
Walking down the aisle and saying my vows to Tom, and watching all our friends and family enjoying themselves during the wedding breakfast (we had a sweetheart table and were able to just sit together and soak it all in!)
Tell us all about your wedding dress. What details do you love, how did it make you feel?
I absolutely loved my dress (Justin Alexander 8799)! It was something I never thought I'd have gone for, as I’m not usually keen on bling and sparkles, but it was beautiful. I loved the detail on the top and the way it cinched me in at the waist. On the day, I could feel the soft chiffon just hug perfectly, and it made me feel so confident and comfortable.
What decor did you go for on your big day?
Burgundy and blush was our colour scheme. We had beautiful flowers throughout with soft candle lighting. Our venue, Apton Hall, is very rustic, so we tried to keep within that theme and use a lot of natural decoration.
Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?
— Don’t stress over small details, as they don’t really matter on the day!
— During the day, try to step back and take it all in, as everything'll go so quickly.
— I would highly recommend a sweetheart table. It gives you a chance to enjoy some personal time together on a very busy day and soak it all in.
