An elegant, minimalist wedding in Santorini that celebrated their stunning location
We all want amazing wedding pictures. An album of memories showing just how joyous the occasion was, while also celebrating the fabulous big day setting. Photography you're proud to hang on every wall of your home, and use as your forever screensaver. It's for these reasons, and many more, photography has long been thought of as the one true investment couples' can make in their wedding. A purchase that can be enjoyed long after the confetti has fallen, for generations to come.
But is there a sure-fire way of getting incredible wedding photography? Can you guarantee the shots taken on your big day will be just as you dreamed? Sure, you could hire a photographer who shoots in the style you desire. You could plan the timing of your nuptials around golden hour to give your photography that romantic, flattering glow. And you could get married somewhere that looks effortlessly impressive on camera. Do all of those things, and you're bound to create some beautiful big day imagery! Just as our real bride Jadie did! Her and Charlie tied the knot earlier this year on the pretty Greek island of Santorini, and the photography they had captured is unreal.
The pair held their ceremony overlooking the ocean, surrounded by their nearest and dearest, who later helped them celebrate their nuptials in style. Jadie chose a gorgeous Enzoani gown for the occasion which coordinated perfectly with the sumptuous setting, and their elegant event styling.
The Real Wedding of Jadie & Charlie in Santorini
We are so pleased to be sharing some pictures of Jadie and Charlie's Santorini wedding, along with a few words from the bride herself about the day, and the build up to it.
How did you meet?
We met at school, we were 14 and 15.
How did you get engaged?
We were on holiday in the Dominican Republic and just before we went to dinner we went for a walk along the beach, and he proposed at sunset.
What was your favourite moment(s) from the wedding?
Just one?! That's so hard, but either when I was walking down the aisle and Charlie saw me for the first time – because he got very emotional, and I didn't think he would. Or when we were cutting the cake and I looked up at all our friends and family singing to the music and having the best time!
Tell us all about your wedding dress. What details do you love, how did it make you feel?
My wedding dress was Marnie by Enzoani. I made a few changes to the dress, it was originally strapless, but I always envisioned having straps, so that's something we added. I felt incredible in the dress, I didn't want to take it off!
What was the general decor for your big day?
Because we got married in Santorini, we didn't want to take away from the amazing views and natural decor, so we went very minimal, white with greenery. I always wanted that 'classic' look for our wedding, and it was simply stunning.
Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?
Try on every style, even a style you might not think you'd like, and trust your wedding dress stylist.
Do you have any local suppliers you would like to recommend? A florist? Venue? DJ?
Not local to England but local to Santorini. I would highly recommend getting married at the Le Ciel wedding venue and having Esme Events as your wedding planner – Anastasia will make all your dreams come true!
How was your Bellissima experience?
Perfect! Everyone made me feel so calm and happy. I find it difficult making decisions, and choosing a wedding dress is a pretty big one! But the reassurance Lily and the team gave me meant so much. I can’t recommend Bellissima enough.
When I changed my mind on the dress I originally said yes to, everyone was so calm, so helpful, and allowed me to choose a different dress, my dress! From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much!
