There was laughter, tears, and lots of love
There's something magical about the British seaside. No matter the season. In the summer, it's a haven for kids, and grown-ups alike. A time for soft ice creams, and ice-cold beers. For lazy days spent shading under tall trees, or sweating it out on the sand until the eventual clouds come over. A British summer spent by the sea is a wonderful thing, but Winter too offers its own special experience. Like long, peaceful walks along the pier, wrapped up warm, tightly gripping takeaway coffee cups. Or finding a window seat in a cosy pub overlooking the sea, and spending the afternoon chatting and watching the waves crash against the shore.
Brighton, in particular, is a unique seaside town that offers so much throughout the year. Evolving and adapting as the seasons develop, serving its many visitors as best it can. One such pair of visitors, many moons ago, was today's couple, Katrina and Jon. A sweet couple that met back in 2013, in Brighton, after a night of partying. Flash forward a few years, and they're back there again, with Jon down on one knee at the end of the pier… Told you, the seaside is a magical place!
Anyway, enough about the beach! Today, we're celebrating Katrina and Jon tying the knot at The Kings Chapel wedding venue in Old Amersham. A beautiful hidden gem nestled in the patchwork quilt that is the Chiltern Hills.

How did you two meet?
Jon and I met at the end of a night out in Brighton on November 9th 2013. Two children and a couple of house moves brings us to June 12th 2021, when Jon took me away for the weekend to Brighton where he proposed on the pier.
What was your favourite moment(s) from the wedding?
Hearing the song I chose to walk down the aisle to. Then squeezing my dad's hand and having a big cuddle, before taking a few deep breaths and walking down the aisle to meet the love of my life. Our two sons were very much a part of the ceremony, and it meant the world to us to have our little princes by our side. Jon and I were both so grateful we could share our special day with all our truly amazing, beautiful family and friends.
Tell us all about your wedding dress!
My dress!!!! My beautiful Mori Lee Renee. Where do I start, it was just beautiful! When looking for gowns, I was torn between one dress and another, but once I popped 'Renee' on, it was a no-brainer. I cried tears of joy, I smiled, I laughed. It was like falling in love, again! I felt amazing in it, and the details were beautiful. It was fitted, it showed cleavage, my bum (something Jon loves - hehe) and it was like no other dress I had ever put on. I felt a million dollars in it.
Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?
Don’t worry about pleasing anyone apart from yourself and your husband. It’s your day, no one else’s.
Take a moment on the day to be alone with your husband, even if it’s just for 20 minutes. That time just allows you to reflect and truly take in all the hard work and love that has gone into the day. It all goes so fast, so have a moment together.

How was your Bellissima experience?
Brilliant! A very fun, positive experience. I have recommended Bellissima to all my friends and family.
Jon and I had the most amazing wedding day, and he was absolutely stunned to see me in my beautiful dress – a look of love I will never forget!
I can’t thank everyone enough for the most incredible experience finding my perfect dress.
A special thank you to Lily for totally capturing what I wanted and suggesting things she knew I would love! Each visit was like coming back to a friend. She made me feel so, so welcome and at ease. It was easy to laugh and cry with her when I found ‘the one’.
Another special thank you has to go to the wonderful Marianna. No job was too big or too small for her. She did the most fantastic job in adjusting the bits I wanted.
I feel like I can’t stop saying thank you, but that’s because I can’t! A wedding day is the most special day in anyone’s life, and finding my dress at Bellissima is something I will never forget – along with the lovely smell of the shop!
