The Real Wedding of Rebecca & Haydn

Updated: Jun 7

A winter wonderland wedding, a Christmas proposal, and a first meeting at Popworld in Chelmsford.

Is there anything more romantic than a proposal at Christmas time? Sure, you could get down on one knee at the top of a snow peaked mountain, or ask for your partner's hand beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Both would be magical. But Christmas just adds that little extra special sparkle to an event that is already, pretty sparkly! Which is why we're sure Haydn chose this unique time of the year to propose to our real bride Rebecca, and also decide to host a Winter wedding.

Chloe didn't want to go full on winter wedding dress for her big day, and chose instead a style that elevated her silhouette and sparkled under the spotlights! And to keep her warm during chilly moments outside, she covered up with a cosy shawl. An iconic finishing touch to a fabulous winter bridal look.

Rebecca & Haydn's Winter Wonderland Wedding

We talk to Rebecca about how she put together her Winter themed wedding, and discover what she thought of her Bellissima shopping experience.

How did you two meet?

Popworld in Chelmsford.

How did you get engaged?

Haydn proposed on Christmas morning. He pulled a silver bauble off of our Christmas tree and got down on one knee. We kept the bauble and it’s on our tree today!

What was your favourite moment(s) from the wedding?

We had an amazing firework display that was made even more special by the mulled wine/hot chocolate we enjoyed while watching it! There were also blankets and hot water bottles for everyone, and a snow machine! It was so cosy and gave the moment a proper Winter wonderland feel.⁣

Tell us all about your wedding dress!

I wanted something that suited a Winter wedding, but I wasn’t overly enthusiastic about sleeves. The dress I chose from Maggie Sottero was perfect and I fell in love with the beautiful layered skirt and long train. It actually kept me really warm on the day and the square neck/thicker straps suited my figure. The layered detail on the dress was just gorgeous and created so much sparkle during our first dance! ⁣

What was the general decor for your big day?

We created a Winter wonderland feel with lots of Christmassy burgundy hints.⁣

Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?

Have fun!! Myself and my sister in law both asked our bridesmaids and Mums to attend our appointments with us, and they picked one dress each from the website for us to try. This was really fun because they choose some curveballs we might not have tried ourselves. Plus it created a bit of healthy competition! My sister actually chose the winning wedding dress for both me and my sister in law, so should there be any vacancies going at Bellissima, she needs to apply!⁣

How was your Bellissima experience?

Absolutely perfect, wouldn’t change a single thing. I wish I could do it all over again! Desperately trying to find someone who's getting married so I can go with them.
